During his diverse 25-year career in urban design, master planning, and landscape architecture, Bruno Carvalho has successfully implemented various projects throughout the United States and abroad, including the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Chicago, Atlanta, West Virginia, California, South Florida, and the Caribbean. As a registered landscape architect in Maryland, Virginia, and Florida and a certified planner, Mr. Carvalho is well-versed in a broad range of professional design experience, from intimate personal landscapes to big-picture master plans. Before joining PlusUrbia, Mr. Carvalho led an urban design and landscape architecture group for a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary firm and was the principal of his own landscape architecture firm based in Washington DC.
Carvalho is a highly experienced designer whose project depth ranges from small intimate spaces to regional-scale master plans in various parts of the globe. Carvalho has given several lectures in open space design as well as served on a variety of design panels for landscape architecture and urban design programs at several universities, including the University of Miami, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, and George Washington University. Carvalho is a registered landscape architect in Florida, Maryland, and Virginia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Mr. Carvalho’s work strives to reach the optimum solution for each unique project, with the idea that no two design solutions are alike.
