A three-day charrette gathered stakeholder input on the different scenarios that would reprogram a 15-acre former hospital grounds in a coastal area into a resilient, sustainable, and community-based redevelopment anchored by a sports facility and community center.
The team made a baseline assessment of the current uses. Then it developed recommendations for implementing and phasing a baseball stadium, community center, public plaza, play, and recreation areas, fish markets, and tourist information centers. The plan also supports the adaptive reuse of former medical buildings into a vocational school.
