Collier County contracted a study in collaboration with the East Naples community to create a Development Plan that focused on several areas to run data and spatial analysis to improve development conditions and the infrastructure to support it.
A 12 mile long corridor study, the US 41 Corridor envisions the implementation of a multimodal strategy to reduce car dependancy for short trips encouraging a mix of uses around its nodes to provide services to underserved communities. The main goals were to:
- Establish a community vision
- Guide future land use and development in the area with the following:
- Encourage desired uses
- Evaluate development and redevelopment options to promote desired outcomes
- Create and build consensus on land use concepts for the area
- Inventory community assets and services
- Provide high-level options to promote multiple methods of transportation, such as walking and biking.
