Karla Fidalgo holds a Bachelor of Architecture and French from the University of Miami, and is proud to be an Urban Planner and Designer at Plusurbia Design.A Miami-native and first-generation Cuban-American, Fidalgo is passionate about creating walkable, accessible, and beautiful urban spaces for all communities. Her work is driven by a commitment to historic preservation and developing resilient city models to combat sea-level rise and climate change.When she is not at PUD, she enjoys practicing yoga, sketching anything along her path, and spending time with her family and pets.

Karla previously worked on Urban Design projects and architectural typologies at DPZ CoDesign, as well as on architectural design at Fleites deleon-Fleites Architecture and Robert A.M Stern Architects. She also worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for the University of Miami’s School of Architecture, and as a student consultant alongside the Director of the University’s Undergraduate French program.

Karla participated in the completion of the North Ponce and Flagler Section Historic Property Survey, where she served as a researcher, site file author, and illustrator. Her portfolio at the firm includes contribution to the design, planning, and public outreach of The Shoreline and Watson Island projects.

Karla’s vision for urban planning is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and community-first design. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of New Urbanism, she brings that same determination to her work, striving to create vibrant, walkable, and resilient urban spaces for all.
